The True Blogging Starts Here

And so it begins.

There comes a point in the average schmuck’s life where he or she (yes, ladies, you can be schmucks too) decides to stand on the Internet’s proverbial soapbox and shout his or her drivel into the wind hoping an equally obtuse passerby will stop and listen. That, my friends, is blogging.

I go by many names. Scott. Daniel. ‘Sir, free refills are limited to the duration of the visit.’ Whatever you want. The point is, I’m an average guy that spends an obscene amount of his time thinking and talking about the gaming industry. That doesn’t even account for time playing games and editing footage.

Did I mention I run the best unknown YouTube channel west of the Mississippi? Because I don’t. It’s fourth best – tops. Nevertheless, if you want to later brag to your relatives about how you were one of the originals and not one of those posers who subbed later, then you should go subscribe right now. We both know grandma won’t sub to anyone with less than 500k subscribers.

What makes one of the Internet’s numerous cretins shell out $18 for a WordPress domain to say the same things he’s been saying on Twitter and YouTube for years? Part of it is just seeing a brand I’ve created get its own website. It’s strangely satisfying, though literally anyone with a credit or debit card could do the same (ain’t the digital age wonderful?). Another part is because it’s simply the right thing to do. The Internet is so loud that not using every megaphone you can find is ill-advised. And finally, there may or may not be a strangely powerful entity holding my future over my head forcing me too. It’s complicated. Like the love/hate relationship I have for Nintendo’s approach to software versus hardware. Oh, you’ll know about that. Trust me.

Am I going to self-promote here? Of course. But I also have other things planned out. For one, I’ll be providing my spin on the top headlines out there when I feel I actually have something worth contributing. If you like hearing opinions from the industry’s cheap seats and also enjoy things like editing, getting great picture quality from consoles, grappling, and more, then you’ve come to the right place.

So strap yourself in and enjoy the ride. There may be times where you think I’m steering you astray, but would a person with a setup like this ever lie to you?
